ABOUT ABOUT

Do you want to produce high-quality food year-round for your family? In this class, led by teachers Andrew Frank and Tommy Poole-Frank, you will learn methods to help you start a sustainable, diversified homestead, or build upon an existing one. In this class we will present resilient methods of self-reliance that break away from the model of monoculture-based farming.

We will discuss how to build up a diverse selection of plants and animals that suits your needs and environment. We will share concepts for a responsible model of homesteading that is economically sustainable without relying on mainstream agricultural practices or systems. From fermenting to wild foraging we will show you how to eat your own food year-round.

A tour of our property will be used to illustrate the ideas discussed in the class, so you can see concept put into practice. The final portion of the class will be a short design period to help you draft personalized concepts for your homestead. Class is served with hardy farm snacks.

If you're in the area, you can also register with us with cash before the event. Barter, work-trade, or scholarships may also be possible with prior-arrangement. Please email us at [email protected] for more details.
